Combined transport

SŽ-Tovorni promet offers comprehensive logistics services in the field of combined transport together with its partners. We ensure fast and reliable transport of your shipments, that is, intermodal transport units (ISO shipping containers, swap-bodies and semi-trailers) by rail with your or our wagons. We offer competitive prices across the entire transport route, transport planning, safety and loading advice and transport of shipments on the desired route – all this in an environmentally friendly way. We predominantly transport shipping containers between the Port of Koper and Austria, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Germany and container terminals in Slovenia as well as Northern Europe.

Accompanied combined transport (traffic) runs between specialised terminals and on the lines with appropriate clearance and technical equipment. You can get information about transport with Ro-La trains at the national combined transport operator Adria Kombi (Tel.: 01 2345 282). The Ro-La trains are currently running on the route Maribor Tezno-Wels CCT.

Non-accompanied transport, that is, a transport unit (semi-trailer, swap-body or container) is transported by rail, inland waterway or sea from a combined transport terminal (port) to a combined transport terminal. Departure/arrival to the combined transport terminal is conducted with a road transport vehicle. Various goods are transported in a container. When changing between different means of transport, there is no need to handle the goods as they are transhipped together with the container. Transport of containers by rail is conducted in the regime of different combined transport operators based on a specific commercial agreement, which is adapted according to the market conditions on a year-by-year basis. The transport is carried out by so-called “shuttle trains” both in domestic and international traffic.

In domestic traffic, together with the national operator Adria Kombi d.o.o, we have developed the “Komar” product which connects the Container terminal of the Port of Koper with the SŽ-TP operated rail terminals in Ljubljana, Celje and Maribor on a daily basis. Apart from the rail transport itself, delivery to the end-customer is also provided at the customer's request, as well as other required services (container inspections, Frigo connections, etc.)

In international transport, together with combined transport operators, daily connections are provided from the Container terminal of the Port of Koper to container terminals in Hungary, Austria, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Poland, Croatia and Serbia. The Ljubljana Container terminal is also connected daily to container terminals in Germany (Munich, Duisburg) and weekly to the Belgrade ŽIT terminal.
