The second day of the Logistics Congress in Portorož saw active participation by SŽ – Tovorni promet. The company’s director, Melita Rozman Dacar, spoke about comprehensive rail services as the support for the economy.
“SŽ – Tovorni promet offers comprehensive services in conventional and combined transports,” the director said about SŽ – Tovorni promet, which is a reliable company, oriented towards innovation, as well as the leading Slovenian rail carrier.
As one of key aspects, she mentioned internationalisation on key markets in the region. She added that the company is also following the development of the Port of Koper as one of its strategic partners.
According to her, the future lies in intermodal transports, where joint action in fhe whole logistics chain will be needed to meet the needs of the market. The cooperation is even more important in the current situation marked by many infrastructure obstacles. In Slovenia, 2023 brought about 74% more rail line closures than the year before.
Mrs. Dozman Dacar further described the company’s products for international markets, as well as for the domestic market, where SŽ – Tovorni promet as the only carrier services the Slovenian economy.
She also stressed that for her and her colleagues, the clients always come first and they can count on the development of new products, tailor-made according to their needs.
Melita Rozman Dacar also took part in the round table about the influence of ESG standards on the future business. She is convinced that rail is the transport mode of the future. She wished for a coordinated regional strategy of infrastructure projects and cross-border logistics development. She stressed the need to develop intermodal terminals and to support the building of industrial sidings. She described the ways in which SŽ – Tovorni promet has been adjusting their services to many challenges of the last years. She also thanked the management of Slovenske železnice and the state authorities for prioritising rail cargo transports.
