In March of 2025, the contract was signed for the purchase of 30 multi-system electric locomotives Traxx 3 MS by Alstom.
In the beginning of September, the prototype locomotive 542 001 made a successful test run between the German towns of Kassel and Fulda. There were no special findings and it was ascertained that the locomotive was running well.
